Taking a minute out of one’s busy schedule is tough especially when you are tired of weekdays and seeing a holiday week the very next day. A famous television advertisement says an idea can change your life, I’d rather say an idea can change your views, perceptions and conceptions. This time the idea was to spread happiness.
“A smile is a facial expression formed by flexing the muscles near both ends of the mouth and by flexing muscles throughout the mouth“. Do you really think it is? I think, on a winter morning, when a child is shivering with cold and his mother covers him with a blanket, the expression on their faces is a smile.
There are plenty of people who spend their entire life by the roadside. We tried to bring the same smile on their faces by distributing a few things among them. Team gathered clothes, woolens, blankets and food for them. The response from all the friends was above our expectations and we were able to collect so many things those could be helpful to them. We had covered 3 slum areas along SG highway here in Ahmedabad, distributing the gathered items among them.
Spreading a smile and joy was the motive, and we happily achieved it with all our efforts. We can see in the inset image a boy in shattered and torn clothes looking all happy after getting a woolen from us. Smiles are infectious and this smile was transferred on our faces as well. Every Diwali is special as we spread joy and happiness with our family and friends but this time Diwali was even more special as we spread the joy and happiness to the needy. Our Diwali could never get better than this. This was the first time we planned something regarding donation, and hopefully we continue the same on future occasions.
We, hopefully, were the reason for this smile. I wish we will be spreading joy and happiness again.
